Portugal 2030 embodies the Partnership Agreement to be established between Portugal and the European Commission, setting the major strategic objectives for the implementation, between 2021 and 2027, of the global amount of €23 billion.

SIFIDE – Tax Incentive System for Business R&D aims to increase the competitiveness of companies, supporting their efforts in Research and Development through the deduction of IRC collection of R&D expenses.

Eligible expenses that may be subject to tax incentives relate to the previous fiscal year and include: acquisitions of tangible fixed assets; expenses with personnel directly involved in R&D tasks; expenses for the participation of managers and staff in the management of R&D institutions; operating expenses; costs of registering and maintaining patents; and expenses with R&D audits, among others.

The Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) is a nationally implemented program, with an execution deadline until 2026, which will implement a set of reforms and investments aimed at restoring sustained economic growth after the pandemic, reinforcing the objective of convergence with Europe over the next decade.
